InMode Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that pairs microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy. Morpheus8 delivers the deepest fractional treatments available, heating subdermal tissue up to 8mm (7mm + 1mm thermal profile).
This FDA-cleared device uses tiny needles to deliver RF energy to different depths of the skin. The needles and heat from the RF energy create micro injuries, which trigger your body's natural healing response and promote the production of new collagen and elastin, to firm the skin and lessen wrinkles.
The treatment is most commonly used on the face and neck (especially to treat jowls and firm the jawline, under-eye area, and around the mouth), but it can be used just about anywhere on the body, including the abdomen, buttocks, chest, arms or knees.
Morpheus8 treatments can address a wide range of skin concerns
- Improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Firm and tighten mildly sagging skin.
- Smooth skin texture.
- Reduce the appearance of large pores.
- Treat hyperpigmentation and acne scarring.
- Help fade stretch marks.
- Reduce some fat just below the skin (though not significantly enough to create facial volume loss).
For optimal results, most people need a series of up to three treatment sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart.
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
Morpheus8 Therapies can be used on any areas that can benefit from resurfacing and subdermal renewal. The most commonly treated areas include the face, periorbital area, abdomen, thighs, legs, and buttocks.
WHO'S A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR MORPHEUS8?
Morpheus8 skin resurfacing can safely benefit all skin types and tones, addressing a broad range of skin concerns.
Given its stimulating effect on collagen production, the treatment excels at improving skin texture, firming and contouring mildly sagging skin, smoothing wrinkles, and minimizing other signs of aging.
Microneedling with radiofrequency energy is also particularly effective at improving the appearance of acne scars-though avoid it if you still have active acne, since the needles can spread breakout-causing bacteria.
The microneedling aspect of Morpheus8 helps resurface the top layer of skin, so people with sun damage and dark spots should see clearer, brighter, more evenly toned skin post-treatment.
Most notably, Morpheus8 is a safe option for people with olive or brown skin tones, who might otherwise be at risk of hypo- or hyperpigmentation from other resurfacing treatments (like lasers). We can choose a needle type that's safest for your skin tone, from microneedles that emanate heat along their full length to coated microneedles that emanate heat only from their very tips, to precisely target the deeper layers of the skin without damaging the skin's surface.
How does Morpheus8 work?
Morpheus8 combines microneedling and RF energy, two skin rejuvenation treatments that are proven to be effective.
Microneedling uses needles to puncture the skin. It's called collagen-induction therapy because the repeated puncturing of the skin causes microtrauma that initiates a recovery cascade of collagen production in the skin.
Microneedling RF delivers electrical energy that causes coagulation in the tissues, meaning there is exfoliation and collagen remodeling, improving the texture and tone of the skin at the same time that it causes the skin to tighten. Both the dermis and epidermis (lower and upper layers of the skin) are affected, resulting in a combination of deeper remodeling and resurfacing.
The treatment takes 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the treated area.
What sets Morpheus8 apart from similar microneedling devices is that the depth of the radiofrequency heat delivered by its microneedles can be customized to reach different depths of the dermal layers (e.g., superficial, intermediate, deep), so we adjust it based on your specific skin concerns.
